Since 2007, Forest Fringe has offered an independent, not-for-profit space in the midst of the Edinburgh Festival. This year, participating artists were invited to contribute any message they wanted to the pages of a zine — essays, drawings, poems, or simply information about their show. The ideas was to create a truly collaborative piece of print. I was asked to assemble these disparate elements into an aesthetically cohesive whole.
